About Iona Mathieson
Iona qualified at the University of Glasgow in 1997 and began her career in mixed practice in the Highlands, before moving to small-animal practice in England. In 2011 she gained the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology, and today runs ophthalmology referral practice in the North West and South West of England.
In 2026 she joined the BVA/KC/ISDS eye testing panel, bringing eye scheme examinations, gonioscopy and litter screening to dog owners and breeders across the North West.
